Civil works COMMENCED!

On 9 October 2007 the first sod of soil at Northgate was turned by the Minister for Infrastructure, the Honourable Patrick Conlon MP. This event celebrates Northgate’s official commencement and the start of civil works on the site for the first of four approved project stages.

Civil works undertaken include the completion of an advanced site survey, excavation of roadways and underground service installation. A number of large pieces of machinery are active on-site and as a result this section of the site has been fenced off for public safety. It is clearly marked as a construction zone. Following EPA regulations all civil works will be carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Construction of Northgate Stage 1 will commence following completion of the civil works. This will involve the development of the Northgate GreenSmart® display village. The display village will showcase sustainable building and garden designs that will characterise Northgate.

New Project Director

Canberra Investment Corporation Ltd. has appointed Mr Alan Miller as Northgate Project Director. Alan will head the team responsible for the delivery of all facets of the Northgate development.
