Research Building
A Project Application has been lodged for permission to construct a new 11 storey Reasearch and Education building on the corner of Reserve Road and Westbourne Street, opposite the chapel and on the site of the former Rotary Lodge.
This will house the many Research and Education functions that are currently spread across the entire site.
A Development Approval has already been granted for demolition and bulk excavation by Willoughby Council. Demolition is complete and bulk excavation is due for completion mid February 2007.
The first phase of the new building will house those Research and Education facilities currently in buildings on the site of the new main hospital building, clearing the way for its development.
Details of the Preferred Project Report (December 2006), original Project Application (September 2006), drawings and supporting reports are set out below. Because of the size of the documents they have been broken down into smaller, more manageable packages.
Any enquiries should be addressed to the Department's Information Centre on 1300 305 695 or via information@planning.nsw.gov.au
Alternative accommodation arrangements have been made to replace Rotary Lodge. This includes a mixture of onsite and off site rooms. Eventually it is intended to replace the Rotary Lodge accommodation on an alternative site on the hospital campus.
